Injured

Following tonights 75 min threshold run out to Hillgrounds and Kempston I've finally had to concede to some rest. Whilst the left leg is much better, the right is worse.

Give it a week and see where we are.

Quick Roundup wc 19/01/15

Three sessions this week, nothing on Monday as that was set aside for a bit of Folksworth recovery. Tuesday was an easy one in preparation for Wednesdays track; that was hard but enjoyable and I was pleased to run the 800 reps at less than 6m/m. Sunday was the first 20m of the year, now that was a little tough. I think I should have take a gel or two as I was flagging from about 16 onwards.

Bedford Harriers Awards Night

Just a couple of awards this year. Just pipped at the post; last-minute for senior 3rd place marathon but still got MV45 marathon.

2014 Road Race Championship... Only Third, Still, Jerry is a worthy winner, third year running and Steve is in a class of his own.

I was very surprised to get 3rd  - well pleased with that.

Quick Roundup wc 050115

Another reasonable week. Club training is hard and takes a little recovery. Legs are as bad as ever. Fridays run was a bit of a bonus and Sundays long run wasn't too bad.

Can't believe I was running so much better this time last year.

Quick Roundup wc 29/12/14

Last week of the year, first week of marathon training - whatever, 5 runs totaling 50+ miles is really good. Poor parkrun but after a chesty cold and slack December it was never going to be great (but not that poor either! ). However, I look at it as a starting point and with London 16 weeks away there's plenty of time yet.

Last run of the year

The last run of 2014 ended my running year a little better than a few days ago. With a chesty cold it felt like the year was waning. Conscious of needing to run some 'double figures' nearer 15 to be precise I went out with  the intention of running my Melchbourne 13.1 route. Having realised I'd started wrong; by going upwards to Newton Road, rather than down to the A6 I thought it might be a good idea to run somewhere different. So, in Yielden I turned up the lane by the church and headed toward the old airbase runway;  Took as couple of sunrise snaps on my phone and headed down the runway and back - met up with Naythan, passed a few moments and headed home. Working out it could be 13 I decided to extend the route and try for 15 - as the Stava dowmnlaod shows,  I just made it.

Legs were tired - especially glutes and piriformis - never mind ,I recovered well.

Hope 2015 is good.
